History:
White Flower Analgesic Balm was developed in 1927 by Gan Geog Eng. The fluid was originally made only for private use, but family friends and liked it so much they convinced Mr. Gan to produce it on a commercial basis. He called it Pak Fah Yeow (also written Bai Hua You, which means white flower oil), named for his favorite flower, the white narcissus. The trademark was registered in 1935. Its initial success was in Singapore and Penang, Mr. Gan decided to enter into the Hong Kong market in 1951. White Flower Oil became a leading product in the Far East.
Ingredients:
White flower oil is an external analgesic oil made from 6% Camphor, 15% Menthol, and 40% Methyl salicylate. It also has eucalyptus oil, lavender oil, and peppermint oil.=
Indications:
It is used for relief of minor aches and pains, sore muscle, sore joints such as arthritis, and strains or sprains. White flower oil is a cooling oil so it is best used for conditions of inflammation or hot areas. It has been known to relieve nasal congestion and headaches.
Use:
Apply a few drops to affected area and gently rub in. Can be applied 2-3 times per day. Be sure to wash hands after applying.
Contraindications:
Do not put on wounds; do not apply to damaged skin, not for use on the face,
Avoid contact with eyes or mucous membranes, do not bandage tightly
