The muscles in the back of your skull work all the time to keep your head stable on top of your spine. It’s alluring to give them a fast rub with your hands, but there is a better way to give them a little bit of affection. Click read more to learn how.
Grab a tennis ball and do the following:
Lie on your back and place 2 tennis balls at the base of your skull, 1 on either side of the spine. Slowly allow your neck to relax against the tennis balls. Softly turn the head from right to left, keeping the chin tucked into the chest.
Stand next to a wall so that one side of your body is facing it. Place your tennis ball between the side of your deltoid and the wall. Lean against the tennis ball and make small circular motions until you find a trigger point. Hold for 15-20 seconds or until you feel a release, then switch sides.
(Move the ball into different positions to relieve the trigger points around your upper body.)
